Few months back, I was attending a bash & there I found my friends discussing about OTT platforms & soon I joined them. We all were talking about the increment of this broadcasting media. Well, I was still puzzled about this topic. So to know more about it, I started my research on the same & there I found that 22 million Indians are involved in watching their favourite shows, short-series, movies on the platform. This activity is popular among the youngsters of these days! OTT means Over-The-Top, is a broadcasting service that provides entertaining content such as- sitcom shows, web-series, movies, reality shows on one feed. This activity went popular during the lockdown period as there were no cineplexes & multiplexes went off, so people started streaming the same on different OTT apps such as- NETFLIX, AMAZON PRIME VIDEO, DISNEY+HOTSTAR, ZEE5, VOOT & many other apps. The viewers were fascinated with this new trend, even the films were released through OTT platforms. Viewers enjoyed doing binge-watching their favourite shows online. This activity was found successful for almost all the age-groups. The year 2020 was kinda fortunate for OTT industry, as there was an increase in the growth of it & reaching the sky. Many film actors, producers, writers, directors are associated with this platform, as this is the most trending activity among the viewers. The future of this industry is gonna be a flourishing one✨!
